When I left TP, my timing for 2.4km was a good 13minutes...that was after climbing for about 2.5 years and I'm pretty sure my fat percentage was like 10% or something (it's doubled TRIPLED now).
Now...after rucking for a year...I just achieved my personal best of 11minutes 45seconds. OH YEAH. Playing 7s will get you fitter than not just a proverbial fiddle but the whole damn string orchestra.
But. I still prefer 10s. You can just let loose on the field and start crashing into people. Or if you prefer, there's still enough space to play catch and run hard. Such directed, concentrated aggression is unbelievably cathartic. Honestly, I'm not sure how touch rugby players can stand handing over the ball after being just pushed. Or sometimes brushed. By the wingtips of a fairy. I really don't see how that is reason for anyone to give up anything. Meh.
