Holiday Mood.

I'm back from sunny (and, for 24hours, typhoony) Langkawi!!!

It was great just spending time with Bee. :)

We rented a car, drove round the island a few times, Bee got annoyed at the lack of shopping opportunities and modernization of the town...and so on.

I might post pictures if I'm not too lazy but there are always zombies to smush. Zombie-smushing is a 24/7 job people. Don't just leave it to the plants.

I love being on holiday. I love being on holiday with Bee even more.
Such an adventure.

:)

I R Happypotamus.

*I apologise for the uninteresting format and unadorned post. Blogger has banned me from its beautification tools once again.*

Plants VS Zombiez.

Have you ever seen a music video for a game? For that matter, have you ever seen vegetables taking out a former NFL zombie?

TADAAAAH!!!

Now you know how I kill boredom. It's not as tough as zombies.

Kinda...Maybe...True.

Your view on yourself:

Other people find you very interesting, but you are really hiding your true self. Your friends love you because you are a good listener. They'll probably still love you if you learn to be yourself with them.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:

You are not looking merely for a girl/boyfriend - you are looking for your life partner. Perhaps you should be more open-minded about who you spend time with. The person you are looking for might hide their charm under their exterior.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:

You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.

The seriousness of your love:

You like to flirt and behave seductively. The opposite sex finds this very attractive, and that's why you'll always have admirers hanging off your arms. But how serious are you about choosing someone to be in a relationship with?

Your views on education

Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can.

The right job for you:

You have many goals and want to achieve as much as you can. The jobs you enjoy are those that let you burn off your considerable excess energy.

How do you view success:

You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Don't give up when you haven't yet even started! Be courageous.

What are you most afraid of:

You are concerned about your image and the way others see you. This means that you try very hard to be accepted by other people. It's time for you to believe in who you are, not what you wear.

Who is your true self:

You are full of energy and confidence. You are unpredictable, with moods changing as quickly as an ocean. You might occasionally be calm and still, but never for long.

Stone Hammer.

I know, I know...I haven't been updating.

I've been having too much fun with my computer games (GUNBOUND!!!) and the flu virus that made me miss 2 days of secondary school experience. But hey, we all have to be strong.

This is going to be a cursory blog post cos I really don't feel like writing very much.

Hmm. I'm glad I'm going to be teaching in primary school after experiencing both of them. Seriously. I'll be a doormat for secondary school students. Gah.

Off to Langkawi with Bee next week! Yaaayyyy. He POPs this thursday. FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY. Actually we wanted to go to KL....then Tioman....then Redang....now it's Langkawi and we've (I!) booked everything so it's all cut and dried with the T's crossed and I's dotted. Whew.

Yaaaaayyyyyyy~ ^^

Volleyball with Weiheng, Shorm, Don, Gay and Weiheng's friend (Kian?) on Saturday was pretty fun although I left the session with a freaking hole in my foot, courtesy of a sharp, sneaky little rock which punctured my heel.

I'm sorry I can't play for nuts, guys. Thank you for being so patient and encouraging. I will improve and help you pwn the national team. Peace. :)

I want to see our timetable. I want school to start. I want to go back to hall to stay. I want to have somewhere to run again. But first, I want to have a funtastic anniversary with my Bee.

Fun Before The Storm.

I have lots to say about this weekend. So if you get tired of reading just close the tab, I don't control your life.

1) I managed to get the Nike Gladiateur Mids! THE LAST PAIR IN SINGAPORE. I think fate intervened in my being able to embrace the shoes. I wasn't even really planning to be in Orchard. Bee wanted to meet me there. So I went. Then, we went to Nike Wisma Atria. The shoes weren't on display but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. So I asked a saleslady about them. She looked at my feet and went "We have one last pair left. I think you should be able to fit." And I tried them. And they DID fit! YAY!

Another bit of coincidence. The saleslady I asked was the only one in the store who knew that there was one pair left. Someone (to whom I am indebted to for all eternity) reserved them and then didn't want (!) them in the end. So she was the one who kept them in the storeroom. If I'd asked someone else, I would've been told that they were all sold out. ONE WEEK. That's all it took. GOSH. Next time they'll be in will probably be next year.

There were no more black ones but I have black gladiators anyway so imagine the shoe above in silver with hot pink where the gold bits are. PRETTY RIGHT??? ^^

*Jacq, as my future roomie, I promise to lend you the shoes whenever I bring them to hall. Sumpah.*

2) After a very long spell of not grooving, I and Salome and Charmaine and 2 of Salome's friends got together to put on a performance as part of a campaign to raise awareness for the intellectually disabled. That happened about 8 hours ago.

This is the video of all our weeks of hard practice and...umm...descent into bimbotism.

HAHAHAHA! How about that. Melati, I'm sorry for laughing when you break into random dances. It's fun. Hehe.

By the way, the little lady in the video is Tingting. She's intellectually disabled but can function at a higher level so she actually holds a job under open employment. She's 24 years old this year. I am so amazed by her. She's very sweet and can play the piano (Grade 6! While I, with a more or less healthy mind, don't know tau geh from brussels sprouts) and likes to play Teen Titans on cartoonnetwork.com. :D We bonded over that for a while, until I asked if she likes to play the Powerpuff Girls games (which I still love) and she just looked at me and said "Aiyo. I grow up already loh." !!!!!!!! OUCH. Such a blow to my heart of spun glass. Of course, the rest of the gang were tickled pink by that little quip.

It was a little hard talking to her not just because of her speech defects but because she was obviously brought up speaking MANDARIN, of which I am slowly losing the ability to speak as time goes by. I swear, she was reciting Tang poetry and it was like she was speaking Klingon. And everytime I tried to speak to her, Charmaine would very helpfully start laughing at me. And she can write in Olden Chinese! While, as Charmaine cheerfully informed the rest, I have problems with the Simplified Modern Chinese. Yep. Aku rase aku jadi cina melayu sua. Melayu pon lagi senang nak belajar.

3) The final rankings of the National Bouldering League are out.

Open Womens Ranking 2009(1+2+3)

Okay la. Considering I didn't train for all the competitions AND I missed one, being 1 short of the top 10 is pretty astonishing. Let's see if I can better this next year. *The chances of my ranking dropping like a suicidal elephant is definitely more favourable right now.*

And THAT concludes this update. Tune in next week, same time same place, for the 10 o'clock news. Good night.

*There are annoying people in the house opposite singing karaoke VERY loudly. So far I've heard Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Jackson 5. Now it's some early 90's let's-hear-it-for-the-boys-style pop. SMITE THEM.*

I've Experienced School. It Ain't Fun.

I feel obliged to tell the world about my school experience in Damai Primary this week but seriously...NOTHING INTERESTING HAPPENED.

I sat at the back of the class for every lesson except for PE and an English lesson where the teacher (who I think was my primary 1 form teacher in Pasir Ris Primary but I don't think she remembers me so I'm not going to say anything) let us walk around and help the groups do group writing on "Our Diorama".

Primary 1 kids are the sweetest species to ever grace this Earth. They are so puny and I'm so afraid I'll just accidentally trod on one of them. They're at that stage where they will happily do anything you say because you're taking care of them and not because their minds are yet unformed like kindergarteners. The more precocious ones pipe up now and then of course but I honestly have not chanced upon anything quite as adorable as a tiny kid whose mini whiteboard is about the size of their torso.

Primary 2s and 3s are all also still quite capable of tugging at those heart strings. They're more comfortable and settled in school so they can be a bit noisier but noise means lively which is pretty fun. Just say words related to bodily functions like "fart" or "butt" and they collapse into puddles of giggle. I think even "armpit" is liable to eke out a few spasmodic chuckles. I'm going to observe P2 and P3 PE tomorrow. Wish me luck.

The upper primary kids sometimes look like they still belong in lower primary and sometimes look like they should be shaving. The difference is kinda weird sometimes. You'll see a small boy running around and playing catch with The Hulk. And they're supposed to be the same age.

Lesson-wise...I've been almost, nearly, head-about-to-hit-the-table, dozing off in so many classes. I think it's because we're not allowed to DO anything. So. I've tried to take notes but yeah taking notes when you're about to fall asleep means you end up with pages of hieroglyphics. I doodled, I made paper hearts, I played bingo with the other 2 NIE trainees, I rewrote the Egyptian Book of the Dead...All in the name of boredom.

For the first time in a long while...TGI*almost*F.

I want my Bee.
I want my pay.
I want my Nikes.
I want my holiday back.

Excitement.

By the way, my new toy can play videos too!

Stuff worth watching:

  1. Jason Mraz - Rainbow Connection
  2. Michael Jackson - Black or White
  3. Walk The Dinosaur
  4. Adam Lambert - Is Anybody Listening?
I'm just having so much fun with that thing. It's like having a real pod around. ^^

12th July is coming! Nobady nobady but chew.

We're One But We're Not The Same.

Sorry for the long period of silence.

But I still don't feel like blogging.

It's like coming off an awesome roller-coaster ride only to find that you gotta pay $2387349775842 for it. It's too hard say no but you're definitely not happy about paying the price.

I got my first samman (that's how Singaporeans pronounce it, no?) tonight to end my day.

Yes. I feel down and moody and emo.

Go away and leave me to listen to Simple Plan and smother my eyelids with charcoal.
