Heartbreaker.
Valentine's day should always stand on its own. Thank god it shares its time with CNY only once every 57 years.
I think Valentine's day is infinitely more special than CNY, if only because I've lost the whole sense of what pushing oranges at other people mean. Ever since I managed to say "xin nian kuai le", CNY has just been about increasing my income. A view I think many people under 40 years of age share. As well as some other superficial geriatric humanoids.
Valentine's day is a day to celebrate love in all its shapes and sizes. It's not about flowers or who can buy the most expensive chocolates. It's just about showing people you love them and are thinking about them on this one special day.
Will you be my Valentine? I want to spend the day with you, telling you how much I love you and showing the whole world I mean it. Then I want to do that over and over again every day of my whole life.Valentine's day is your chance to make someone feel special. Although chronologically it's over, and those bustling business bees begin to turn up the volume on their bloodthirsty ruthlessness, Valentine's day could be tomorrow. Or the next day. Or the second Thursday after next. It's really up to you to call the shots. I'm not saying Valentine's day is redundant. Quite the opposite actually. There are so many people motivated by power and achievement right now, it's wonderful to have a day set aside to commemorate love and benevolence
*Side track: I've really learned a lot from sociology. I do believe I'm a hedonist. But more on that later*.I just wish people didn't need a special day to remind them to love...so it's a lot of trouble to maintain a loving relationship. But why would it be trouble if the other person is worth it? Wouldn't you be glad to sacrifice I dunno
STUFF for her/him? The moment you start wondering if it's worth it, it's not. It wouldn't be. The calculative sharks in the world measure worth before they do. The ones who find love just
do.
