Addicted To That RUSH.
Rockin' weekend~
SaturdayAlright not much here. Just training in the morning at the Saints' nice soft turf. Azura's knee popped. Please pop it back and GET WELL SOON!!! :(
SUNDAYSalomon X-trail Run in the morning. 10km of dirt bike trail in Tampines. Crazy route. Full of uphills, downhills and waist-deep splashes into mud. It was a very scenic run though. If I could I would totally go there to watch the sunrise.
It was Bee's
FIRST RUN! So proud of you Bee. :)
After the run, me and mine went to Afghanistan for brunch. Totally rockin' naan they've got there. Class. We have to go. No more Al-Ameen shit.
Dan please take note.Concussion ensued at home after brunch. Woke up to go for training with the Blacks at the Saints' grounds yet again (getting kind of bored of that place SOMEONE PLEASE PETITION FOR A LADIES' RESTROOM). Training was just okay. Really need to work on ball handling skills. Fingers seem to be perpetually smeared with butter, grease and a good helping of ghee. Maybe I should get grip gloves. Or invoke my spidey powers. Whichever is easier.
Poor Sam got her ACL torn by a tackle. PLEASE GET WELL SOON TOO! :(
Bathed and refreshed after training, I met Bee and we had a REALLY good dinner at Billy Bomber's. I don't remember their food ever tasting so nice. The cheese fries are da
BOMB.
The highlight of the day came after dinner...

Clockwise from left: Billy Sheehan (bassist), Paul Gilbert (lead guitarist), Pat Torpey (drums), Eric Martin (lead vocals)ZOMGz. The concert at Fort Canning was all about the
ROCK baby!!! I've never seen a band, where the average age of each member indicates a pending mid-life crisis, enjoy the rush of rock and roll so much. Addicted to that rush indeed. :D
The concert lasted from about 830pm till about 1030++pm. They had so much energy and were so obviously INTO the music, it was so amazing. I'm grinning just thinking about them. ^^ They came back for
TWO! 2!!! encores and in the last one, they all switched instruments and took turns singing and playing. Multi-talented musicians all of them. + they all had really nice voices though
Eric Martin's hoarse bluesy
sexy voice is still my eternal favourite. Ahhh~*hearts*
Paul Gilbert is really a freaking
AWESOME guitarist and he's starting to rank all the way up there with Slash on my favourite fingerists list. He played his axe not just with his fingers but with a
power drill and his
mouth/teeth/tongue.
HOW FUCKING SICK IS THAT?!?!?! Not to mention he doesn't do drugs.
Billy Sheehan slayed his bass solos (total bass pwnage baby) and the whole crowd was just yelling his name, wanting him to jam with
Gilbert. Which he did for an absolutely
legendary session of
guitar sex~AAAAAND I almost died on the spot when they each whipped out
double-necked axes to jam!!! ZOMGGGz~ It was rock heaven and the angels were playing. GAWD. I was literally swooning on my little grass patch.
Sheehan had this lime green double-necked bass and
Gilbert's looked a little like it was covered with mother-of-pearl but I really couldn't see properly and who cares anyway THEY WERE SO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They completely shredded the guts outta their guitars man.
Oh and the part where they switched instruments and did a song?
Gilbert was on drums,
Pat Torpey took over the bass,
Eric Martin (love him!) rocked the lead guitar and
Sheehan started to sing....
SMOKE OVER WATER.AAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!! I have to admit here I totally went into a fangirl squealing frenzy when I heard those first few riffs.JANGJANGJAAAAANG~!~!~! Classic!!! If you, dear reader, don't know this rock anthem, you really should shoot yourself in the foot or at least bash a ukelele over your head cos you don't have
ROCK in your soul.
Such a fucking awesome concert.
Totally love them. PLEASE COME BAAACK!!!
I'm sorry I've run out of adjectives to describe it and them. Awesome basically covers just about everything.
