I've Experienced School. It Ain't Fun.
I feel obliged to tell the world about my school experience in Damai Primary this week but seriously...
NOTHING INTERESTING HAPPENED.
I sat at the back of the class for every lesson except for PE and an English lesson where the teacher (who I think was my primary 1 form teacher in Pasir Ris Primary but I don't think she remembers me so I'm not going to say anything) let us walk around and help the groups do group writing on "Our Diorama".
Primary 1 kids are the sweetest species to ever grace this Earth. They are so puny and I'm so afraid I'll just accidentally trod on one of them. They're at that stage where they will happily do anything you say because you're taking care of them and not because their minds are yet unformed like kindergarteners. The more precocious ones pipe up now and then of course but I honestly have not chanced upon anything quite as adorable as a tiny kid whose mini whiteboard is about the size of their torso.
Primary 2s and 3s are all also still quite capable of tugging at those heart strings. They're more comfortable and settled in school so they can be a bit noisier but noise means lively which is pretty fun. Just say words related to bodily functions like "fart" or "butt" and they collapse into puddles of giggle. I think even "armpit" is liable to eke out a few spasmodic chuckles. I'm going to observe P2 and P3 PE tomorrow. Wish me luck.
The upper primary kids sometimes look like they still belong in lower primary and sometimes look like they should be shaving. The difference is kinda weird sometimes. You'll see a small boy running around and playing catch with The Hulk. And they're supposed to be the same age.
Lesson-wise...I've been almost, nearly, head-about-to-hit-the-table, dozing off in so many classes. I think it's because we're not allowed to DO anything. So. I've tried to take notes but yeah taking notes when you're about to fall asleep means you end up with pages of hieroglyphics. I doodled, I made paper hearts, I played bingo with the other 2 NIE trainees, I rewrote the Egyptian Book of the Dead...All in the name of boredom.
For the first time in a long while...TGI*almost*F.
I want my Bee.
I want my pay.
I want my Nikes.
I want my holiday back.
